Hey everyone, how are you?

My name is Mario, I have been on many adventurous journeys and now I am doing research on viruses in a hospital. Now I’m going to start my research again today.

“Doctor Mario, we have a problem!”
“Hey, isn’t that Nurse Peach, what’s going on?”
“A new type of virus has been discovered and it’s starting to multiply!”
“What? What? Well, I’ve just finished a special medicine that will kill it. ・・・・
 ・・・・ This stuff works!”

Game Reviews

“Dr. Mario” is a unique puzzle game in the Mario series.

Mario, the main character from “Super Mario Bros.” and other games, plays the role of a doctor who uses capsules to exterminate viruses that have grown inside bottles.

There are three types of viruses and capsules: red, blue, and yellow. Mario on the screen throws capsules at random, and the player moves the falling capsules to place them in the virus bottle. The same color can be erased by connecting four or more of the same color, including the virus, in a vertical or horizontal line.

The stage is cleared when all the viruses in the bottle are eliminated. The game is over when the capsules are piled up to the top of the bin.

In 2 Player Mode, two players can play against each other. The winner is the first player to eliminate all the viruses or drive the other player to Game Over. The number of viruses and the speed at which the capsules fall can also be used to set a handicap.

The “falling puzzle game” boom that followed Tetris led to the release of many similar games by various companies, but “Dr. Mario” was particularly popular and remained popular for a long time until its successor, “Yoshi’s Eggs,” was released. The game was especially popular among housewives and other middle-aged and older players at the time.

Later, the game was ported to many platforms. For example, it was ported to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo 64, Nintendo Swich, and was included as an extra mini-game, “Germ Eradication,” in Nintendo DS’s “More Brain Training Otona no DS Training”.
